Specialist Orthodontist
Darren qualified as a dentist from Queen’s University Belfast in 2013 and obtained experience in a range of specialties in the following years, including general practice and core training positions in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. Craving a fresh challenge, in 2016 Darren moved to Australia for the first time where he worked for the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Broken Hill and later the Special Needs Dentistry department in the Royal Darwin Hospital.
Darren returned to the UK in 2018 to complete his 3-year training programme in Orthodontics at the Liverpool University Dental Hospital, where he had the good fortune to work with and learn from world-renowned Consultant Orthodontists. During this time, Darren collaborated with colleagues to publish two Cochrane Review papers.
As a life-long, ardent supporter of Liverpool FC, living and working in Liverpool gave him the added bonus of being able to attend many of their home matches.
Aside from Orthodontics his greatest passion is coffee. He experiments with roasting green coffee beans at home, often distributing them to family and friends. In addition, he enjoys an active lifestyle, with cycling, running and outdoor expeditions key to maintaining his physical and mental balance.
Darren’s ambition is to provide high quality, patient-centred orthodontic treatment. He believes that inspiring confidence in patients and colleagues alike will help everyone travel the extra mile to deliver the outcomes that patients deserve.
